I love Anthropologie so you’ll be seeing a lot of Anthro hacks on Hapiness, Wherever 🙂 It seems you guys do too as my last Anthropologie DIY received quite a few likes 🙂 which, sadly, all disappeared when I moved to self-hosted… 🙁
So, to celebrate the new Hapiness, Wherever website, I decided to do another really simple, really pretty Anthropologie inspired necklace. You can view the original here
Time taken: 5 minutes
Difficulty level: Simple
What you need:
- 2 gold roundpins
- 14 inch thin gold chain- this is so that the pearl will nestle right between your collarbones
- 16 inch thin gold chain
- 2 small gold jump rings
- Gold clasp
- Instead of the crystal studded bar which can be difficult to get, we are going to use crystals instead: I used 4mm Swarovski but I think 3mm bicones would suit the ephemerality of the necklace even better. The original was pink but I chose a tanzanite purple for my creation 🙂
This necklace is all super delicate and feminine, so try to get your findings as small as possible!
Thread the crystals onto 1 gold roundpin then when you have about 0.7cm left, use your pliers to make a hook at the end of the headpin. Slide the gold chain through and close the loop. You will end up with the above necklace.
Repeat with the pearl but just thread 1 pearl onto the round pin this time.
Lay both pieces out as you see above and cut each gold chain in the middle.
Use your pliers to open 1 gold jump ring and slide in 1 end of the clasp, 1 end of the pearl chain and 1 end of the crystal chain then close tightly.
Repeat with the other jump ring, the other end of the clasp and the other ends of the pearl & crystal chains.
Less than 5 minutes later, you have a lovely, layered necklace.
