When I was younger, pen palling was 1 of my favourite, favourite, favourite things in the whole, wide world. I was such a pen palling fanatic that I actually picked up random kids on holidays to write to! But that’s a story for another day.
20 years on, 1 thing that has not changed is my love of receiving good old-fashioned snail mail. I was delighted to find an envelope sitting on my doormat last week, and even more delighted to find that it contained some goodies from KernowCraft 🙂
It even came with a sweet handwritten note from Lucy! 🙂
What You Need:
- 20 plated quartz spikes
- Silver wire
- 2 ribbons: I got mine from an old Matches shopping bag
- Aluminium chain
Cut out 4 sections of silver chain: 2 of about 3 cm each and 2 with lengths of 10 cm each.
Thread 3 quartz points onto the silver wire. About 3 cm from the end of the wire, bend the wire & make a loop.
Slide 1 3-cm chain into the loop then wrap the end of the wire around the silver wire. Wrap until all the wire has been used up- you may need to use a pair of pliers to tuck the end of the wire tightly in.
Repeat Step 2 on the other side of the quartz points but this time use the 10 cm chain.
Repeat Step 1- but this time slide 4 quartz points onto the silver wire (not 3).
Slide the 3-cm chain (from Step 2) onto each end of the 4 quartz points, make a loop and wrap the silver wire around- you should now have the following design
Cut off the paper at the ends of the ribbons. Slide 1 into the ending link of the chain till it is in the middle then tie a knot in the ribbon. You may want to dab some Fraycheck or glue to keep the ribbon from unravelling.
Repeat with the other end.
