Thanks to all the time I spend on Instagram, I have discovered Free People’s Bolo necklace (essentially a lariat, or a necklace with 2 dangling chains that you cross over each other). It is super easy and super cheap to DIY yourself!

All you need:

  • a length of black cord (I used about 1m as I wanted to wrap it a couple of times)
  • some silver beads

THAT’S IT. No tools, no glue, na-dah! Oh, and did I mention the supplies cost me under £2?

Step 1
Divide the silver beads into 2 halves. Thread half the silver beads onto 1 end of the cord.

Step 2

Tie a knot close to the end of the cord.
Repeat for the other side.

And you’re down. All ready for the summer festivals now!

How to make your own Free People Lookalike Lariat without tools. So easy it takes 1 minute!

Compare it to the original Free people version below- which cost US$78! (Mine cost under $2!)

Hi Gayle, aww thanks for the interest! I bought them at a bead fair but you don’t have to use silver circles- you can use silver spacers which are easily available at most bead shops, or even silver hardware parts! 🙂
