What with all the T shirt yarn projects I’ve been DIY-ing (a bohemian gypsy necklace, a cushion meets dog toy meets bracelet meets necklace & a colourful necklace ), I have a ton of T shirt yarn scraps and was thinking of a good way to use them all up. And now that the sun is (sort of) out, I feel like something colourful and reminiscent of spring is called for 🙂 So let me know what you think of this beach style boho necklace 🙂

What you need

Elastic thread

T shirt yarn scraps (not necessarily of the same colour!)

Wooden beads )you need an even number but the exact number is up to you)

Step 1

Thread the wooden beads onto the elastic thread.

Once all the beads are on, tie a knot at the end of the elastic.

Step 2

Line up all the scraps of T-shirt yarn and trim them so they’re about the same length. (Approximately is good enough as we will trim them again when they’re tied onto the necklace)

Fold the T-shirt yarn into two equal lengths.

Now tie it onto the wooden bead necklace: mark the middle point with you finger, place the elastic thread (the midpoint- so there are equal number of wooden beads on both sides) over the t shirt yarn, then pull the ends of the t shirt yarn through the loop (see photo below). Pull the t shirt yarn so that a tight knot forms.

Now we’re ready for summer! 🙂
