I’m a long-time fan of Alexander McQueen but their products are just a liiiitttttle too pricey for me. So I thought I should kick off 365DDD (it’s too tiring to keep typing- 365 days of designer-inspired DIYs) with an Alexander McQueen piece. I’ve already gotten 1 request for it from a friend- hope you like it as much 🙂 Here’s what you need:

– some leather (or as I’ve used- faux leather) cord in beige

– 2 copper skulls with the holes through the cheeks and not from chin to forehead (if you can’t get it in copper, you can always spray paint it 🙂 )

– 1 pair of copper fastenings

– 4 crystal rhinestones (or you can be a cheapskate like me- I busted my budget for 365DDD so I decided to steal rhinestones from my old hair clips instead- but they’re not as shiny as if I had used Swarovski ones :P)

– E6000 & a toothpick

Note: I got my supplies from the local craft store, but if you’re not sure you can find them, I can get you a pack for £6 (without the E6000 but with 4 Swarovski rhinestones for the eyes) + postage – just let me know where it needs to be sent to and I’ll check the postage with the post office 🙂

Step 1:

Wrap the cord twice around your wrist, making sure it sits comfortable, then cut off that length.

Step 2:

Apply glue onto the end of the cord. Use the toothpick to remove any excess, then stick the fastening on.

Step 3:

Apply some glue onto the toothpick then put the glue into the eye socket before sticking the rhinestone on. You can use the other end of the toothpick to press the rhinestone firmly down. Repeat for all 4 eye sockets.

Step 4:

Repeat Step 2 for the other end of the cord. Another “designer” addition to your wardrobe 🙂
